Course Description: This class is an introductory course in which students will explore the basic grammar and culture of Spanish speaking countries. Specific content includes, but is not limited to: communicative skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing in Spanish. These skills will be developed through class exercises, class projects, oral presentations, as well as other computer interactive activities.

Text: Holt, Rinehart and Winston Publishers: ¡Exprésate!, First Edition.

Suggested materials: looseleaf paper, folder, and a writing utensil.

Class procedures:

1. I.D. tags are to be worn upon entering the classroom.

2. When the bell rings, the student is to sitting quietly in his/her assigned seat.

3. Students will be considerate of other classmates, and classroom property.

4. All homework assignments are due at the beginning of the class period. For every day an assignment is late, 10% will automatically be deducted.

5. Make-up work is the student's responsibility, as the assignments will be posted on teacher's website on a daily basis. When students return, they are given 2 days (per absence) to complete the work. However, an unexcused absence may result in losing half the credit on the given assignment. Please view the section in the Broward County Code of Conduct regarding this topic.

I am available at 7:10 a.m. everymorning for extra help and make-up assignments.  If the student is not able to come in at that time, please let me know so that we can make other arrangements.  Thank you for your cooperation.

6. All students will adhere to the rules of the Knights Code, as well as the Broward County Code of Conduct.
