Welcome to Monarch’s JROTC

Welcome all incoming LET 1’s and welcome back all LET 2’s,3’s, and 4’s. The S-5 Staff hopes you had a safe, satisfying, and eventful summer. All of you new cadets who joined JROTC with the utmost enthusiasm, have committed yourselves to a program that will be, at the least, a memorable experience.

JROTCwill provide you with numerous opportunities to develop self discipline make true friends and have a blast! LET 1’s your instructor is SFC Samedy, Monarch High’s Army Instructor (AI). All LET 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s, are in class with Colonel Osowski, Monarch High’s Senior Army Instructor (SAI).  JROTC will present you with endless chances to succeed.

Most cadets thrive in one of the many Knights’ Battalion teams. From joining and being dedicated to one or more of the JROTC teams, Cadets will have the opportunity to win awards, trophies, ribbons, and even a Varsity Letter. JROTC is also a great way to earn community service hours, a requirement for graduation. Cadets are allowed to volunteer for services like ushering, parades and other activities to obtain these much needed service hours. Did we also mention that colleges love JROTC and that you may receive scholarships for attending this program?

One of the best parts of being involved in JROTC is belonging to, what we call, the ROTCY (rot-cee) group. You make many friends and almost instantaneously become apart of this “family”. Many cadets often get together after school for activities like the movies, bowling etc. JROTC cadets even formed its own unofficial paintball team that plays on the weekends. In addition to that, there is several tables at lunch that seat only JROTC cadets. This is definitely something to be proud to be apart of! Welcome to our family.
